Nestled at the foot of Yufeng Mountain in Liuzhou, Guangxi, is the former residence of Ho Chi Minh, a site rich with historical significance. A striking bronze bust of Ho Chi Minh, a gift from Vietnam, prominently features in the exhibition area. Inside the residence, visitors can find furniture he used, including a desk, chairs, and a wooden bed, along with numerous manuscripts and photographs that collectively narrate the enduring friendship between China and Vietnam.

Initially built in 1930 and known as "Nanyang Inn," this residence has preserved its distinctive Republican architectural style for nearly a century. In the 1940s, Ho Chi Minh, the former President of Vietnam, resided here while engaging in revolutionary activities in Liuzhou.

Xie Chaode, Advisor for Local History and Cultural Affairs, explains that Ho Chi Minh visited Liuzhou four times for his revolutionary work. Between 1943 and 1944, he resided at the "Nanyang Inn" for an entire year, during which he reorganized the Vietnamese Revolutionary Alliance and was elected vice chairman in March 1944. He also established a training program for Vietnamese revolutionary leaders in the southeastern suburbs of Liuzhou, nurturing a significant number of key figures for the movement.

Today, as a nationally recognized cultural heritage site, Ho Chi Minh's former residence not only hosts numerous official exchanges between China and Vietnam but also attracts an increasing number of Vietnamese visitors.

Li Jie, a commentator with seven years of experience at the site, has witnessed a remarkable surge in interest. She said, “Since 2023, there has been a noticeable increase in government delegations, tour groups, and international students from Vietnam. During peak periods, I can host up to three Vietnamese groups in a single day.”

This year marks the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Vietnam, and Li Jie has observed heightened enthusiasm among the Vietnamese government and student groups visiting the exhibition hall of Ho Chi Minh's former residence.

Xie Chaode emphasizes that the residence represents not only revolutionary memories but also the shared aspirations of the people of China and Vietnam for peace, development, and mutual benefit. After their visits, many Vietnamese officials and representatives have left heartfelt messages, declaring, “May the friendship between Vietnam and China last forever.”
